Thank the gods that Pink is using the bully pulpit of a huge billboard in Times Square to tackle one of our greatest moral challenges: horse drawn carriage rides.

Yes, it takes guts to challenge the powerful carriage industry, but unlike many other vapid pop ditzes who use supposed “causes” as a way of thrusting their desperate faces into our consciousness over and over again, Pink is putting her money where her mouth is: to ease the lives of New York’s beleaguered dray horses, she will don her pony girl gear and, bit in mouth, pull carts full of lumpen tourists around the paths of Central Park herself.

As for me, I’m off to the Flea for a couple of days.
